You might notice there's still a bit of lipstick down in the tube. Scrape out the last bits with a cotton swap or orange stick & mix it with Vaseline or lip gloss in a lipstick palette. Use a lip brush to apply.

Tip #2: Never use a test lipstick on your lips. It's just plain unhygienic. Instead, test lipstick on your fingertips. It's a closer fit to your lips than the back of your hand.

Tip #3: Use liner on your lips as a base. Lipstick will last longer if you fill in your lips with the liner first. If you're using light lipstick, try a nude liner. Then slick your lipstick on top.

Tip #4: Never use a dark liner with light lipstick. Defined lips are great, but make sure the liner
matches the lipstick or gloss. Dark liner and light lips is tacky.

Tip #5: Keep lipstick off your teeth with this trick. This is a trick I learned years ago from my mom. After applying lipstick, take your index finger and pop it in your mouth, then pull it out. The excess lipstick will come off on your finger rather than your teeth.

Tip #6: Lipstick can act as a blush. But never use blush as a lipstick.

Tip #7: Youcan line before or after you apply lipstick or gloss. Some women prefer to apply liner first, arguing that you won't be able to see the natural line of your lips if you apply lipstick first. But I find lips look more natural when I line lips after I apply lipstick.

Tip #8: The older you are, the 'creamier' your lips should look. Women over 50 should avoid matte or a gloss and stick with a creamy lipstick.

Tip #9: Don't throw out a bad color lipstick. Beauty editors know you can create a great lipcolor by blending lipsticks you don't like. You can also color in lips with a darker liner before applying a lipstick that's too bright.

Tip #10: For 'plump' lips, apply liner just outside your natural lipline. Dab a bit of gloss in the middle of your bottom lip.

Tip #11: Keep lip gloss on longer with liner. Lip gloss is infamous for wearing off fast, but if you fill in lips first with the liner, the gloss has something to stick to.

Tip #12: Heal -- don't throw out -- a broken lipstick. If your lipstick breaks off, simply take off the broken portion with a tissue, then slowly wave a lit match under the broken piece of lipstick. When it's melted a bit, put it back on the base, swivel it down and put it in the fridge -- uncovered -- for 30 minutes.

Tip #13: Avoid orange or brown shades, including corals. They tend to make teeth appear yellow.

Tip #14: Camouflage yellowed teeth. To downplay a yellow cast to teeth, try lipsticks with a bluish undertone. Shades that work include plums, pinks, wines and violets.

Tip #15: Experiment with blending lipsticks and glosses. Real lipstick aficionados create their own lipstick shades by blending different color and even formulations. You can start with a matte lipstick, follow with a shimmery shade and cap it off with a colored gloss.

Top 4 FREE online dating sites!

Free Dating Site #1: OkCupidA mix of social networking, compatibility-testing and online dating, OkCupid is an unusual free dating site in that it allows its members to create the matching questions already pre-determined at sites like eHarmony or Chemistry.

Free Dating Site #2: Plenty of Fish It is considered to be the first successful free dating site model on the Internet.

Free Dating Site #3: Connecting Singles Free dating abounds at Connecting Singles, which is geared towards US-based users. type='text'>Create your own signiture style

1)Take a serious assessment of your overall current style, deciding if you are traditional, modern, fashion-forward, casual, hippie natural, etc.

2)Determine what you are trying to accomplish with your signature style -- to be more memorable, develop an always chic look or have more fun with fashion.

3)Study famous tastemakers -- everyone from Karl Lagerfeld with his ponytail and fan to Carrie Donovan and her oversized glasses, black clothes and blond hair.

4)Don't hesitate to imitate a look and make it your own, making sure it fits into your current style and personality.

5)Decide what you would be most comfortable changing -- your hair, wardrobe colors or accessories.

6)If you're choosing a striking new hairstyle or color, try the new look in stages to see how it works.

7)If you are choosing a bold new wardrobe color, start by incorporating it as a shirt, tie or scarf color to see how well it works for you.

8)Relying on accessories -- sunglasses, big pins, bright hosiery or vintage handbags -- is a safe, easy and inexpensive way to start a personalized look.

9)Experiment and alter your signature style piece as you grow more confident.

Once you have the groove of your signature look, be sure to change your supporting wardrobe frequently enough so that you don't look the same everyday.

Tips:

Use your signature style to camouflage flaws or draw attention to your best features.

Try not to cross the fine line between signature style and affectation

A signature look can be something as sentimental as a charm bracelet or as breezy as brightly colored pantyhose -- just make sure it feels like you and fits your personality and lifestyle.
<img width='1' height='1' Polish:

If you are flaunting your toes all over the place this summer, then consider painting your nails a fun, bright color.

Bright pink is especially popular this summer and looks great on all skin types. It's especially striking against dark skin.

Foundation is out, tinted moisturizer is in:

If you refuse to go bare in summer and can't imagine life without your foundation, consider putting away your foundation for the season and trying a tinted moisturizer.

I'm warning you, you may never go back to your old foundation.
Lighter than foundation, tinted moisturizers still cover flaws but feel less "cakey." And while foundations can feel as if they're melting off your face, tinted moisturizers won't.

Don't forget to protect your other body parts:

most women know to put sunscreen on their faces, they skip their chests, hands and necks. Their faces age well, but nothing else does.

Who wants to have 80-year-old hands and a 60-year-old face?

My advice: When you apply sunscreen, take a couple minutes to slather it on your check and neck.

Use whatever's leftover on your hands.

Pink, flushed cheeks are gorgeous:

Nothing's more natural in summer than pink, flushed, "just-back-from-a-run" skin.

To get this look, apply bronzer on all the bits the sun would naturally hit: forehead, cheeks and nose.

Then apply a pink blush on the apples of your cheeks.

Apply foundation right in five easy steps

1) Start with a clean, moisturized face. Dab dots of concealer on undereye circles or blemishes. Tab the concealer into place (never rub). I suggest using concealer before foundation because you won't use as much foundation if you conceal problem spots first.

2) Dot foundation on red spots or uneven areas of skin (usually the chin, along or on the nose, under the eyes and the corners of the mouth). Again, do not cover the entire face, your goal is to achieve an even skin tone.

3) Moving from the inside of your face outward, blend the foundation into skin. You can use your fingers, a nylon brush or a wedge sponge.

4) Blend at the hairline and jawline to avoid the mask look.

5) Finish off the look with a powder. Carry blotting papers for any oils that creep up over the day, instead of packing on the powder.

Do's and Don'ts when going on your first date

First dates can be a breeze if you know what to do... and what to avoid.

I have listed below a few of great do's and important don'ts to help keep your date running smoothly, so maybe, just maybe, you'll make it to a second date, or third, etc.

Do:
Choose a place you both are comfortable and familiar with. If one of you is fighting traffic or worse, lost, you're bound to have unnecessary tension before you even arrive. Likewise if you pick a spot where you or your date might feel uncomfortable.

Don't:
Be inflexible with your plans. You might have an idea of what you'd like to do, but be respectful of your date's wishes. Remember that where you actually meet isn’t as important as the time you’ll be spending together. Focus on just getting to know your date, not on hanging out at your favorite place.

Do:
Be on time. You may feel it’s better to be a few minutes late so you don’t feel silly waiting for your date, but that just means your date will be waiting for you. Treat your date as an important meeting so you’re sure to show him or her the respect they deserve. Plan ahead, leave early, and account for any possible delays in traffic.

Don't:
Dress inappropriately. Aim for business casual attire. No sweats. Nothing frumpy. Nothing too provocative or low-cut. Go easy on the makeup, and make sure your hair is properly groomed. First impressions count on a date, and physical appearance counts as much as personality. You may not mind your girlfriend or boyfriend dressing sloppy after you’ve gone out with them a while, but for a first date make sure you’re presenting the best possibly image you can.

Do:
Smile and give eye contact when greeting your date. This may sound like a simple point, but too often daters are nervous or in a hurry, and don’t focus immediately upon the person who has taken time out of their day to simply meet them. Show your date you appreciate their effort, look at them and say hello when you arrive, rather than looking around for a table (or an escape!)

Don't:
Answer cell phone calls. It’s rude on a first date for your cell phone to even ring. The best bet is to turn your phone off, or set it to mute. Remember, your first date is only going to be about an hour and you should be able to live without looking to see if someone has called you. If you must keep your phone on, let any calls you receive go through to voice mail, and bring the focus immediately back to your date.

Do:
Ask meaningful questions that will give you a glimpse into your date's personality. Listen to your date and provide input into your conversations. The first date is generally an audition for further meetings, so use it to your advantage by trying to find out as much information about your date as possible. You don’t need their life history, but what you do need is to get a sense if this person is someone you’ll want to see again.

Don't:
Monopolize the conversation. Ask questions to give your date a chance to talk so you can both find out about each other. While you are trying to get to know your date, you aren’t there to drill them for every detail of their life.

Do:
Set a time limit on the date in advance. This will ease any stress in trying to end the date and allow you to go home and reflect on it to better decide if you'd like a second meeting.

How to acheive beautiful feet!

So when the sun starts to shine and the air is warming up and the shoe stores are swapping boots for strapy sandals in the display windows, the panic starts. Thankfully we are told that it's never too late to start pampering our feet with a pedicure.

1) The best way to start is by removing any hard, calloused skin. Use a foot file on dry skin, before you have a bath or shower ( if skin has been softened by water, you may remove too much skin) Concentrate on the heels and the balls of the foot.

2) Moisturise your feet daily with special foot cream.
These have been designed to hydrate the drier, thicker skin of your feet and stop the heels from cracking.

3) Make sure you vary the height of your shoe heels as this will keep your calf muscles flexible. If walking is painful or you spend a lot of time on your feet, be sure to use padded insoles to cushion the balls of your feet.

4) If wearing sandals, it is a must to apply SPF to your feet.
The feet always get forgotten when it comes to sunscreen application yet they are perfectly angled to get most of the suns damaging rays and get sunburned.

Set time aside weekly to soak your feet. The foot spas and pedicures you can buy are a great idea but all you need is a bucket full of warm water and a few essential oils. Peppermint, cypress, lavender, pine, frankincense and tea tree oils are all excellent choices. I like to add a couple of tablespoons full of powdered milk to make it really decadent. If you like wearing nail polish on your toes, make sure they are well manicured. Nothing is worse than calling attention to unkept feet. Keep cuticles neat and well maintained. Always use base coat to stop nail polish from discolouring toe nails.

Treat yourself to a pedicure at the beginning of summer. It is much easier then, to maintain your feet in top condition. With these healthy feet tips, you can be confidently stepping into those strapy sandals we see coming out for summer. Not only that but your feet will thank you in years to come as we say a step ahead of foot problems.

5 Great summer fashion looks

1) Flirty Skirts
Shorts and T-shirts may be the most familiar way to beat the heat, but the new flirty skirts are the chicest.
Don't be intimidated by skirts: the best skirts are cute AND forgiving (not something that happens in fashion very often, so jump on this!)
The best of the bunch is a flared, knee-length silhouette.
It can be in any fabric with a soft hand (most denim doesn't qualify) like washed linen, rayon or cotton. Gentle tiers, or a fuller silhouette that gently comes out from the hip looks great on most women.
Solids and prints are both great in a summer skirt.
Pair with a fitted T or other soft top (washed linen, woven cotton, etc.) Layered tanks (below) are another great option.
Heels are fine for dressier looks, but flat sandals are easy for casual wear.
In finding your perfect skirt length, remember that fashion wisdom says a skirt should never be wider than it is long.
Asymmetrical or hankie hems are a great camouflage treatment for bottom-heavy figures; pleats and flounces will you give you curves below the waist if you lack them.

2) Florals
If you've passed on head-to-toe blooms because you think only super-girly types can carry them off, try florals this season as an accent.
One easy way is to pin on a large flower as an accent piece on a simple dress or separates. You can even wear it in your hair.
Everything from shoes to handbags are covered with flowers, so add a bud that way.
If a floral print intrigues you, but you can't decide if you can pull it off, remember to keep prints in proportion to your shape.
Larger frames look best in wider spaced, bigger blooms; petite frames can carry off allover, ditsy (tiny) prints.

3) Tank tops
Many women keep bare arms under wraps all season just because they think tank tops are too skimpy.
The latest trend of layering tank tops gets rid of the skimpies. Just pick two complementary colors and layer away. Lighweight cotton jersey is ideal for layering (skip the ribbed styles for this because even tiny ribbing adds bulk).
Some tanks can go braless because they have a built-in bra; many manufacturers make camis with built-ins as well.
Pass on the urge to let your bra straps hang out (tacky, even if it slips in and out of style) and turn to retailers like Land's End which always carries a tank with modest enough straps to sport a bra, too.

4) Lingerie-inspired Apparel
Summer style often brings out the underwear with slip-style dresses, bra-inspired tops and pajama-type drawstring bottoms.
But if lingerie-inspired fashion gives you flashbacks of Madonna in her pointy Gaultier bra, you can try this look in moderation.
Opt for pretty lace trims on tops and drawstring bottoms in soft linen or a bold print.
The idea here is to merely reference lingerie, rather than look like you're running around in your slip. Think lace trims, sultry satin pieces, even sculptured corset tops for the sexiest looks.

5) Bright Prints
Nothing says "Summer" better than brights. But you may think lime, yellow and fuchsia are better suited to plastic dishes for the patio, than for women's fashion.
The truth is that many brights can be hard to wear close to the face unless they really set off your coloring. The best way to find out if a color works for you is to simply hold it up to your face. If lime makes your skin look putrid, then switch over to the hotter end of the palette and give hot pink a try.
Trial and error is your best method for choosing brights that work for you.
The easiest way to slip into some color is to choose a mid-range bright -- say cotton candy pink -- and pair with a safe neutral like denim.
Another really great look to absorb some of the impact of strong color is to pair it with white; try a white fitted T-shirt with a hot pink hibiscus pink skirt, for example.

How to acheive shiny hair

To give your hair a great shine and help remove soap build up:
Slightly diluted vinegar is fantastic for shine.
The easiest way to apply vinegar is in a spray bottle before shower.
Then rinse out thoroughly.

Add a couple of tablespoons of lemon juice to your rinse water.

Applying milk to your hair and then rinsing with cool water.
Next, rub an ice cube along the length of your strands, then comb.

Add a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to your rinse water.

Mash up an avocado with a tablespoon of olive oil and a tsp of baking powder.
Mix until well combined and then work the mixture through your hair and then wash out.

Home remedy for shiny hair
Ingrdients:
2 cups distilled water
1/3 cup chopped fresh rosemary leaves

In small saucepan combine ingredients and bring to boil.
Continue to boil 5 minutes. Let cool, then pour into spray bottle.
Keep refrigerated and mist on hair to add shine, tone scalp, or invigorate skin.

Mayonnaise is a great conditioner for dry hair.
Depending on the length of your hair, apply approximately 1/2 cup of mayonnaise to your dry hair.
Work into hair really well and then cover your hair with a plastic bag, allowing to set for about 15 minutes.
Rinse thoroughly and then shampoo as usual.

Another home remedy for shiny hair
1 oz. oil of Rosemary
1/8 oz. oil of Lavender
Enough for about 6 months of use.
Simply mix the two oils together and store in the dark or in a small amber or light-proof bottle. Put a few drops of the oil on your palm, brush your palm against your hairbrush and then brush your hair.

Stir 1 teaspoon honey into 4 cups (1 quart) warm water.
After shampooing, pour mixture through hair.
Do not rinse out.
Dry as normal.
A refreshing spray that adds shine to hair and is especially good for brunettes; the rosemary brings out natural highlights in dark hair much the way chamomile does for blonde locks.
It can also be used to rejuvenate tired skin.

Healthy Hair shiny tip
Avoid washing your hair too often in warm water.
Heat stimulates the scalp which encourages the production of oil.
A cooler shower will help to control greasy hair.
If you colour your hair, be sure to use products formulated for colour treated hair.
They won't strip the colour from your hair, leaving it dull and lifeless.

How to get over a heartbreak

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5096329409949496482" style="FLOAT: left; You can almost hear all 150,000 of them down on their little split ends, pleading, "Save me! Save me!" Here's a quick course on how to rescue dried-out hair.

Shampoo with care:

To shampoo every day is what many people say, but shampooing doesn't only wash away dirt, it washes out the hair's protective oils.

If you've dried your hair out from too much lather, give your hair a needed break—try washing less often. And use only a mild shampoo, one labeled "for dry or damaged hair."

Use a conditioner:

When hair becomes dry, the outer layer, called cuticles, peel off from the central shaft. Conditioners glue the cuticles back to the shaft, add lubricant to the hair and prevent static electricity (which creates frizz).

Go heavy on the mayo:

Mayonnaise makes an excellent conditioner. Leave the oily white goo in your hair for anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour before washing it out. It may sound crazy, but trust me, it actually works!

Snip off those frayed ends:

Dry hair tends to suffer most at the ends. The answer? Snip 'em off.

Once every six weeks or so should keep those frayed ends under control.

Design your hair without heat:

Heat is what makes the desert a desert; it also contributes to dried-out hair. Two of the most intense sources of heat are curling irons and electric curlers.

rediscover those (unheated) plastic cylinder rollers from years gone by. For straightening, wrap slightly moist hair under and around rollers (like a page boy hairdo) for about 10 minutes. For curling or adding wave, try using sponge rollers overnight or sleeping with moist braids.

Protect your hair from the elements:

Whipping wind can fray your hair just like a piece of fabric. Wear a hat, both on breezy, balmy summer days, and gusty, frosty winter days.

Don't swim bear-headed:

Chlorine is one of the most destructive things to hair. First rub a little olive oil into your hair.

Have a beer:

Believe it or not, beer is a wonderful setting lotion. It gives a crisp, healthy, shiny look, even to dry hair. The trick is to spray the brew onto your hair using a pump bottle after you've shampooed and towel-dried, but before you blow-dry or style. And don't worry about smelling like a lush—the odor of the beer quickly disappear.

Consider a trip to the beauty parlor:

A professional moisturizing treatment can work wonders for your dried-out head of hair. A real good steam treatment with oils and creams lasts about an hour, and afterward you can really tell the difference.

With all of these tips, you should be able to treat your dry and damaged hair in no time and be looking like a princess!

How to properly pluck your eyebrows

To create a shape

Brush your brows straight up with an old toothbrush or an old mascara wand, and then level off the top, smoothing along with the brush. If you have a few extra-long hairs, don't pluck them.

Trim off about half of the offending hairs so they lie down properly.

Next, apply either an ice cube or some baby teething gel to numb the area (it will probably still hurt - such is the price for beauty!)

The inside edge of your eyebrow should align with the inner corner of your eye.

The easiest way to work out how long the tail of your eyebrow should be is to imagine the under-eye line continued to where it would meet with the eyebrow.

The arch of your eyebrow should follow the curve of your upper eyeline.

An easy way to judge where to pluck to is to take a pencil and place it at the corner of your nose and aim towards, first the inside of your eye, make a mark.
Then aim the pencil at the outer corner of your eye, and again, make a mark.
Pluck all the hairs on the outer side of the mark.

Then get to trimming!
Judge how thin you want your eyebrows, and start at the bottom of your eyebrow.

Pluck all the stray hair underneath, and then very little on top.

Do a single hair at a time, and once you think you are done, take a good look at them, compare one to the other and make them match.

Then, voila! Tap the blush with the end of the brush (yes, where the bristles end).

You should end up with a layer of "loose" powder blush. love life better than a little romance.

Enhancing your relationship is something every longterm relationship eventually needs.

Sooner or later your love life will be affected by the stresses of everyday life and many other factors.

Often we hear that our partners are too tired to make love or perhaps there is a problem in the relationship that makes love making a bit more difficult then it used to be.

So many aspects of our daily life are affected and reflected in our personal relationships.

This is when learning how to enhance your love life becomes very important.

For starters, it helps to incorporate playfulness in the bedroom.

Being playful in the bedroom is a key factor to having fun in the bedroom.

It also helps you get closer to your mate.

Learning how to become more spontaneous when it comes to lovemaking can also help improve your love life.

The reason is because it lets your mate know that you still find them sexy and attractive, which is the key to a great love life.

You can add romance by feeding one another, having a romantic moonlight picnic and much more.

Here are a few tips on enhancing your love life:

Lighting candles

It may sound cliche, but it still works.

It sets the right mood lighting.

Placing flower petals around the room

Can add romance and a lovely aroma around the room to enhance sexual experience.

Take a romantic bath together

This is always a romantic favorite.

Light some candles and even take a candlelit bath, even more romantic.

Making out

A little bit of this can help you remember how good it was to have your first kiss together.

Spend time talking and cuddling

Can be very enhancing to the love making process.

It is very erotic.

There are many things you can do to make your love life better.

Romance is the best way into your mate's heart and lower their inhibitions.

A little romance goes a long way in the bedroom.

<img shiny, healthy head of hair is quite a blessing. Weather, chemical processing and inappropriate hair products can harm your tresses, however, stripping them of luster and silkiness. Using the right shampoo for your hair type is important, especially if you have fine or normal locks, which do best with special, gentle care. Fine hair may be limp and lifeless; a shampoo that restores body can work wonders. Normal hair is easier to maintain, but it, too, can benefit from a mild shampoo, which can leave it soft and shiny. Both types can be stripped by the cleansers in commercial shampoos over time. Natural shampoos are milder and just as effective.

Drying hair properly
After you take a shower or a bath, use a towel to gently squeeze out the excess water. Don't rub your hair with the towel; this can roughen the surfacces and cause tangles, leading to broken hairs. After gently drying your tresses, comb them carefully with a wide-toothed comb that has rounded teeth. Don't pull at snarls in your hair. Instead, use your fingers or the comb to work them out.

Application
Wet your hands and pour a little shampoo, about the size of a quarter, into your palm. Rub your hands together until the shampoo begins to lather slightly. Apply it to your hair, massaging your scalp with gentle circular motions until a thick lather forms. Then run your hands down over the rest of your hair while gently working in the lather. Rinse your hair and, if necessary, repeat.

Distilled water for clean rinsing
Water that has been distilled is extremely pure; it is free of sodium and trace amounts of solid matter, unlike other kinds of water. It is a good ingredient for natural shampoos, as it doesn't contain minerals that can build up in your hair.
Essential oils for scent and shine Lemon essential oil can give your hair a healthy shine. Peru-balsam oil conditions fine hair and makes it easier to comb. Rosemary oil is also good for natural shampoos, since it contains components that help invigorate and strengthen both your scalp and your hair.

Gentle herbal shampoo as a base
A good base for natural shampoo is a mild herbal shampoo, which can be found in many health-food stores. Buy a soap-based shampoo made with coconut, soy, olive or palm-kernel oil. Another good choice is an herbal baby shampoo. Avoid shampoos that include olefin sulfate, lauramide DEA, cocamide DEA, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, sodium C14-16 or cocamidopropyl betaine, as they tend to be too harsh.

Alternatives for healthy hair
If you don't want to make a natural shampoo but want something mild, try diluting your normal shampoo by half with distilled water. You can also add essential oils for fragrance; lavender and rosemary oils are good choices. Daily scalp massages spread your skin's natural oils to the hair shafts. Use your fingertips to massage your scalp for 3 min. each day before shampooing.

Reicipe for Shampoo

For normal hair

1 cup distilled water
1 cup herbal shampoo
30 drops lemon essential oil
30 drops rosemary essential oil

For fine hair

1 cup distilled water
1 cup herbal shampoo
30 drops Peru-balsam essential oil
30 drops bay-laurel essential oil

Bring the distilled water to a boil in a small pot. Then remove it from the heat and stir in the shampoo.
Allow the mixture to cool until it is at room temperature.
Add the essential oils and blend.
Transfer the shampoo to either a glass or a plastic bottle and use it to wash your hair every day.
Take Care! The essential oils in these shampoos may irritate the mucous membranes if they come into contact with your eyes, so you should always keep your eyes closed when you're washing your hair. If some shampoo does get into your eyes, rinse it out immediately with plenty of water to prevent irritation. Pregnant women and epileptics should avoid using bay-laurel, lemon and rosemary essential oils, since they can trigger contractions or seizures; lemon oil can also cause photosensitivity.

How to Dress up That Little Black Dress

The beauty about the little black dress is that you can create many dramatic looks with it. You can dress it from office to party with the right accessories.

Steps

1)Start with a simple white pearl necklace. Think about jewelry you have already. A brooch pinned on the side of the dress to add some extra pizzazz.

2)Put on some super sheer pantyhose and sexy black heels.

3)If you're going for more of a summer look, get some gorgeous strappy sandals, preferably in gold or silver! You can never go wrong with those.

4)For an evening look, a little bit of glitter with costume jewelry can go a long way. Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize with jewelry, and you're good to go.

5)Give it a dressier appearance for evening only wear. Tie a Silk Scarf around the neckline, and pick a purse meant for evening wear. Don't get a black one, it's too predictable. Gold or silver looks great on black

6)If it is a shift style dress, then wear a pair of white satin gloves and pearls with round toe pumps. Round toe pumps are an important bit for this look. It's very audrey hepburn and romantic, and pointed toes are a bit to fierce for such a soft and retro look.

7)Try a very simple pair of black pumps, preferrably rounded and a pair of chandelier earring with a dupioni silk wrap. However, looking great doesn't have to take too much time or effort. All you have to do is know what you're doing. Here's how to get your routine down pat!

Here are a few steps:

1) Apply foundation
Finding the right foundation for your skin type is the first step. You must choose the right color and texture for your skin type. I suggest buying a foundation with an SPF to protect against son, and still give you coverage.

How to apply foundation:
First off, on most foundations, it says "smooth and blend with fingers." Not a good idea.
I suggest buying a makeup sponge and blending the foundation into your skin towards the outside of your face.

2) Apply blush
Finding the correct blush is also very important, you don't want to look like a clown.
Use a light pink color on your cheekbones.

How to apply blush:
Use a well manned blush brush to blend the blush into your cheekbones. Not only does blush enhance the look, it also gives you the immpression of high cheek bones, which is always sexy.

3) Apply eyeliner
I suggest using a pencil eyeliner. Liquid eyeliner can be too messy, and end up smearing.

How to apply eyeliner:
I suggest wearing eyeliner only on the outside edges of your eyes. Start from the middle of your eye and blend the eyeliner towards the outside of your eyes. Full on eyeliner, on the entire lid and bottom of your eye keeps your eyes from appearing as big as you may desire. Instead, it can make your eyes appear smaller.

4) Apply eyeshadow
It is very important that you incorporate your skin tone into your decision on eyeshadow.
Cool tones should go with cool colors, such as warm tones should go with warm colors.

How to apply eyeshadow:
I suggest if you choose to wear more than one color, make sure the darker color is on towards the bottom, lighter color towards the brow. For example, I have warm skin tones, so I wear a brown towards the bottom of my lid, and I top it off with a shimmery white towards the brow.

5) Apply mascara
Mascara tops off any look. It makes eyes pop out, which is beautiful.

How to apply mascara:
I think it is best to only apply mascara on the top eyelash, to make sure you don't make your eyes appear too small.
I wouldn't suggest using crazy colors, such as blue mascara, it does nobody justice.
I usually use black mascara, but if you choose brown, it is your decision, just remember that your eyes will not stand out as much as if you were to use black.

6) Apply lipstick
Lipstick will always bring out your beautiful lips.

How to apply lipstick:
I would choose a color that doesn't throw off the entire look.
If you have on flashy eyeshadow, it is best to go with a simple lipstick. Same for the other way around, if you have simple eyeshadow, go for a more flashy lipstick. Do not wear too much flashy makeup, you will appear as a clown.

7) Apply powder
This is the last step of the procedure, but not any less important. It puts the finishing touches to your look, and defeats the shinyness from your foundation. Plus it gives you a flawless look.

How to apply powder:
Simply use a big powder brush and apply a light coat of powder to your entire face.

With these wonderful tips, you should be looking like a beauty queen in no time!

Tips on enhancing any outfit

Jeans
Jeans are so versatile, you can pair them with almost anything from a stylish belt to dressy shirts, casual shirts, even heels.
I suggest if you are wearing a plain white or black blouse, add a colorful belt, such as red, or any sort of stylish or casual belt will do.

Dressy blouses
You can pair dressy shirts with jeans, dress pants, and even skirts. If you are wearing a dressy blouse with jeans, I suggest pairing the attire with a classy pair of closed toe heels. It can really spice up and outfit. You can use this trick with dress pants as well, and of course skirts. I suggest if wearing a skirt with a dressy blouse, add a cute but sophisticated ankle bracelet.

Casual blouses
To dress up a casual blouse, I suggest a cute top shirt, such as a see through top over a tanktop. Or a cute top ladies topcoat to enhance the look. Also pair a cute or sophisticated belt with it. I also think it is really cute to add hair accessories and a messy do, this looks cute with casual shirts.

Skirts
If you are planning on wearing a classy skirt, I suggest pairing it off with pantyhose and a classy pair of closed toe heels. Or if you choose to go without the pantyhose, opt for open toed classy sandals. If it is a casual skirt, I just love the look of casual sandals with this style, If it is a denim skirt, it goes along with the jeans style, stylish belts and a cute top to match.

Black and white
You can never go wrong with this style. I love to pair this type of outfit off with a cute set of pearls, or a simple silver necklace. Gold would be to bold and stand out too much, it would throw the outfit off. Pair this sort of outfit off with a cute pair of casual heels, or classy heels, low heels though.

Big hips & thighs? Also empire line or high waisted tops that accentuate and draw attention to the top are very flattering on this body shape.

Dresses with empire waist are just perfect as they enhance the bust and therefore balance the shape. Wrap style dresses also look stunning on this shape. Avoid bias-cut dresses and skirts as these mould over your shape and draw attention to a big behind.

A-line skirts, wide leg pants and boot-cut jeans (especially with a hipster or low rise which make the behind look smaller) are flattering on this body shape - anything too clingy or figure hugging in the hip and thighs area will draw attention there and make it look larger then life! Unfortunately, skinny jeans only look good on celery (straight up & down) shapes.

Use dark colours on the bottom half and bright colours on the top. Go for flowing fabrics, and avoid anything shiny on the lower half. Don't wear tops & jackets that finish at the widest part of your hips, and stay away from high waisted pants and skirts that accentuate the waist, as the small waist will just make the hips and thigh look bigger.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://yourguidetofashion.blogspot.com/2007/05/big-hips-thighs-read-for-solution.html' title='Big hips & thighs? Last year it was all about frills, lace, sequins, colour, shine, wild patterns and textures - all reflecting a desire for feminine luxuries. The fashions reflected a rich opulence and a desire to wear sumptuous fabrics embellished with beads, sequins and metallic threading.

This season a more luxurious & sophisticated look is emerging, the garments are more pulled together, less glitz but definitely more glamour. Rather then wearing richly embellished ethnic look garments, there is a more classic and elegant mood. The styles are simple yet elegant, the fabrics are mostly in a plain colour free from wild prints, shiny sequins or colourful beads. Think classy, elegant, voguish & chic.

This season must-haves: long baby doll tunics, a stylish top made from a metallic material, pinafore dress, opaque leggings/tights, crisp white shirt, cross-over stylish dress with a wide belt worn high on the waist, fur collar cropped jacket, hight waisted skinny jeans, long swing coat, waist cinched or empire-line dress for special occasions, wide mannish slouchy trousers, flowing caftan tops.

Colours: dark charcoal grey & light grey, monochrome mix, silver, black & white, purple and this season must have - red.

Fabrics: sensual satin, soft silk, winter classic tartan, glamorous brocade & jacquard, jersey, taffeta, cotton, crepe, georgette & chiffon. Mettalics & fur trims will be huge this season.

Silhouette: high waisted skirts & pants, empire line tunics and dresses, large oversized collars, full balloon sleeves & full bell sleeves.

Accessories: BIG bag, triple belts, belts worn hight on the waist, fur trims, boots, silver classic-style jewellery.

How to create your personal style. Be yourself!

1. Take a serious assessment of your overall current style, deciding if you are traditional, modern, fashion-forward, casual, hippie natural, etc.

2. Determine what you are trying to accomplish with your signature style -- to be more memorable, develop an always chic look or have more fun with fashion.

3. Study famous tastemakers -- everyone from Karl Lagerfeld with his ponytail and fan to Carrie Donovan and her oversized glasses, black clothes and blond hair.

4. Don't hesitate to imitate a look and make it your own, making sure it fits into your current style and personality.

5. Decide what you would be most comfortable changing -- your hair, wardrobe colors or accessories.

6. If you're choosing a striking new hairstyle or color, try the new look in stages to see how it works.

7. If you are choosing a bold new wardrobe color, start by incorporating it as a shirt, tie or scarf color to see how well it works for you.

8. Relying on accessories -- sunglasses, big pins, bright hosiery or vintage handbags -- is a safe, easy and inexpensive way to start a personalized look.

9. Experiment and alter your signature style piece as you grow more confident.

10. Once you have the groove of your signature look, be sure to change your supporting wardrobe frequently enough so that you don't look the same everyday.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://yourguidetofashion.blogspot.com/2007/05/how-to-create-your-personal-style-be.html' title='How to create your personal style. Like rose colored lenses -- they're good for water sports because they boost contrast for objects that are viewed against blue or green backgrounds. Green-lensed sunglasses make objects in your vision appear crisper by filtering out blue light. Other lens colors help in different ways, but color isn't the only consideration -- you should consider lens material, too. There are three major qualities to think about when you're buying sunglasses: good eye protection, comfort, and a fantastic style. It isn't hard to get all three, and you don't have to pay a fortune for sunglasses to do it.

Swimsuits for every shape and size

Summer is almost here. It is time to find that perfect swimsuit for just your size. It is sometimes a difficult task, but I have a few tips to help you along your way.

The right suits for...

Boy shapes

For a perfect fit: Feminize your shape by choosing diagonal stripes that wrap around your figure.

Play up your chest with special details, like bows, rufflles, sequins, or shiny fabric.

Avoid peices cut straight accross, like bandeau tops or boy shorts.

Curvy bodies

For a perfect fit: First, pick the right size. Sure signs of a too-small suit: straps that dig into shoulders, skin chafing around leg openings, and a bikini top that rides up in the back.

Look for styles that are strategically color-blocked; if you're heavier on top, wear dark on bottom.

Stay away form hugely oversize prints, but dont' think you've gotta wear black! If the cut is good, colorful suits do flatter.

Busty figures

For a perfect fit: A halter top, whether a one piece or a bikini is always your best bet. Make sure your top has a bottom brand that's at least an inch wide so it'll anchor itself to your chest and provide support from below.

Avoid on-pieces that don't have a built in support system. And no, a stretchy shelf bra doesn't count. Opt instead for something with underwire that has corset-style boning. Bandeau tops are tricky, but if you love them, make sure yours has rubber covered upper and lower seams so it won't slip and slide.

Pear shapes

For the perfect fit: First of all, curvy hips and thighs are HOT! Celebrate your sexy shape with tie sides, ring sides or skimpy sides.

Pair lower-rise bottoms with a strapless top; people will notice your lovely waist and shoulders.

Extremelly high-cut bottoms don't always flatter your thighs. A leg line that meets the widest part of you hisps lenghthens legs.

Covering your belly

For a perfect fit: Choose a suit that has a very high Lycra content. It'll flatten your belly in a second.

Stay away from shiny fabrics; they pick up light in all the wrong places.

When it comes to tankinis, make sure yours is cut long and full enough across the waist so it doesn't roll up.

Helpful Clothes Shopping Tips

First and foremost, wear clothes that you can easily take off and put back on in the dressing room.

Take inventory of your wardrobe and take note of what you need. Having purpose to your trip is key--this will help you avoid impulse buying which even I have unfortunately been known to do.

Make sure you are comfortable in what you are trying on; sit down and move your arms around so you know you can move with ease.

If you are undecided on what to buy, don’t be afraid to try things on you might not usually gravitate towards. Get a feel for other styles and fits--you might surprise yourself. And also keep in mind that some things look better on you than on the hanger.

How to get a guy to notice you

If you want to know how to make a guy fall in love with you, then this is not the article for you. This is for those who have noticed a guy and want him to notice her back (getting him to like you is a whole other story). Luckily, getting a guy to notice you is easier because it involves the use of basic social skills. You should be honest, direct, pleasant, and reasonable.

Be sure that his attention is what you want. Don't try to get a guy to look your way just because you want attention and you want to feel good about yourself. You don't want to lead someone on. You could end up in a very awkward or uncomfortable situation--see the Warnings below.

Be yourself Everyone probably says this, but it's true! No guy wants a girl to pretend she is something she's not. Any guy who does want a fake kind of girl is not a guy whose attention is worth having. Resist the temptation to put on a show or to do anything that just isn't you just to get his attention.

Get a new look. Don't change who you are, just try something different. Try a new hairstyle, new clothes, etc. It's a good idea to change things up once in a while, just because variety's the spice of life, and it might help you catch his eye.

Smile and make eye contact. Whether closed-mouth or open-mouth, do it. Unless it really makes you feel artificial, learn how to shoot people a reassuring smile, letting them know that you're a happy and confident person who wants to enjoy life. The idea is to communicate that you're inviting their company.

Flirt Do it as little or as much as you want, but remember that too much flirting (especially with other guys) will likely get him to take notice, but perhaps not in a good way.

Try to be around him often, such as sitting near him. Take interest in the activities he's interested in him, not just so that you can get near him but also so that you can get to know him better and so you can broaden your own horizons.

Talk to him. Try to get to know him a little by discussing things you have in common. A good way to start a conversation is to ask him a question. Listen to him and don't interrupt him when he is talking. You could even compliment him or ask for help.

Make him feel special. There's got to be a reason that you want him to notice you, and that's because you noticed him first. Let him know--subtly--that you're interested in who he is, that you respect something about him, and that you sincerely want to get to know him better.

Be brave and stand up for who you are, and what you believe in. Ultimately, this will catch the attention and respect of someone who is going to work well for you, even if it turns out not to be this guy.

Tips
Be sure to have gum, breath mints, Listerine strips, etc. around in case you need to freshen up quickly, especially if you're hoping to start a conversation.

It's always a good idea to keep yourself well-groomed. While there are guys who get uncomfortable and intimidated if you're all dolled up, it never hurts to stick to a few hygiene basics: shower daily, brush your teeth regularly, use deodorant, keep your hair decent (not perfect, but decent), and take care of your skin. Better yet, stay healthy!

Speak your mind. You're not a drone, and any guy worth having will love it. Just don't scare them by going into a spiel. It's a turn-on to see a girl who loves her mind, not one who's bent on world domination. Likewise, don't get caught up in complaining (about yourself, others, your circumstances). Negativity pushes others away, and it lowers your self-esteem.

If you cannot relate to any of his interests, or even make a genuine effort to get into it, there will never be ground for a lasting relationship anyway. Dump your intentions now.
Being too straightforward might mean leaving him bored. One way to get someone's attention is to make him curious, and that means leaving him guessing to some degree.

How to make eyes appear bigger

Proper application of eye makeup, can make small eyes appear larger. Learn which colors to use, and which not to use, to give this appearance.

Apply a light shade of eye shadow to the crease of the upper lid.

Curl eyelashes with a eyelash curler.

Apply a coat of thickening mascara on the top lashes only. Wait a few seconds for that to dry, and apply a second coat.

Use a sharpened black eye liner to the inner corner of the eye and top. Use your pinky to steady your hand, by placing it on your cheek, just below the eye.

White pencil on the inner part of the eyelid will help make eyes appear bigger.
If your eyes are normal-sized, and close to almond-shaped, apply mascara all the way round. This looks really dramatic, and is a real eye-opener.

If you want to add dimension to your eyes, add a slightly darker color above the crease.

If you also want to make your eyes appear wider, make your eyeliner thicker towards the edges of your eyes.

Put mascara especially on the lashes near to outer corner of your eye: these are the ones that need extra lift, and make a huge difference in eye appearance.

Get an eye makeover, at any department store at the makeup department. Ask them for various colors to use to make your eyes look larger.

Be careful! Do not use dark eyeliner on the bottom lid, this only makes eyes smaller! Many makeup experts use white eyeliner - it works!

How to Get Smoky Eyes With Makeup

Smoky eyes have been a big style for quite awhile and there's no sign this particular trend is dying. The key to the perfect smoky eye is proper blending. You want to make sure colors are blended together flawlessly. Also, it's important to pair light base colors with rich dark colors. Nice mixes include: Soft gold base with deep purple on top, champagne base with bright blue & peach base with green hue. Here's How:

1.Prep the lid. The key to keeping eyeshadow from melting into your eyelid crease as the day goes on is to kept eyelids oil-free. To do this start with an eyeshadow base.

2.Apply eyeliner. If you're going for a typical black, brown or gray smoky eye, apply liner in one of those colors above the upper lash line, drawing line thicker in the middle of eye. If your opting for a jewel-toned eye (violet makes a gorgeous smoky eye), line eyes with a purple, blue or deep green liner.

3.Blend in color on bottom lashes For color on the bottom (a key smokey eye look) you'll want a lighter eyeliner & the key is to 'smudge it'. You can also apply a bit of shadow to get full smudge effect.

4.Apply light base color Again, the key to a smoky eye is pairing a lighter base with the darker hue. I prefer a nice cream shade for my base. Sweep a light, shimmery shadow over the lids to your browbone.

5.Blend in darker color, but keep dark color below the crease. Now that you have the base & eyeliner on, it's time to get the smoky effect. You need a darker eyeshadow shade. Using an eyeshadow brush blend in color starting at your lash line & blending up. Make sure to blend color into the lash line so the eye liner disappears. Stop deep color at crease.

6.Doublecheck your work Make sure eyes match & blend color with a Q-tip if need be.

7.Finish with several coats of volumizing mascara.

Tips:

1.Remember to keep lips nude. When applying strong makeup (like smoky eyes or red lips) put the focus on either eyes or lips, never both. (Think Angelina Jolie: She either plays up her huge eyes or her huge lips, never both. If she did, she'd look like a clown).

2.For a bit of fun, try a blue or purple mascara. It will make blue eyes 'pop.'

3.Liner doesn't have to come in pencil form. Makeup experts know eyeshadows make some of the best eyeliners. To do this take an eyeliner brush, wet it, then dab wet brush into the dark shadow. This allows for a deep, precise line. You can also use the dark shadows without wetting brush first. Either way, eyeliner is necessary for smoky eyes.

Discount Shoes

The only thing better than a new pair of shoes, is getting a great deal on a new pair of shoes. Where do you want to live?
Commitment to engagement and marriage is great, but where will you live after the cake is cut? You'll need to compromise, particularly if one of you envisions an apartment in the city while the other foresees a white picket fence and labrador retriever.

2. How will you maintain your friendships?
You'll want to discuss the close friends and acquaintances you each have in your life. There's nothing wrong with maintaining friendships as long as it's not at the expense of allowing your romance to grow.

3. How do you feel about religion and spirituality?
If you're an interfaith couple, this is particularly important.

4. Do you plan to have children?
You don't need to know exactly how many kids you'll have and their names. Still, you should at a minimum know if each of you wants to have children in the future.

5. What's your take on intimacy?
If one of you is interested in sexual activity three times per week and the other prefers three times per month, you may be in for a rocky time in bed. Be honest with each other about your sexual needs.

Most Flattering Haircuts for Face Shapes

No matter your face shape, there will be cuts that look best on you. Here's a quick guide of what to look for and what to avoid for 5 different face shapes. Pick yours to determine what's the most flattering haircut for your face shape.

Oval This is the most versatile face. You can pull off almost any look -- short, long, straight or wavy. No matter the length of your cut, you'll look best with layers near your cheekbones, lips or chin -- basically whatever feature you want to highlight. Styles that are super hot now: Choppy bobs, long waves and shoulder-skimming shags. Avoid: Short layers that add height on top of your head. This will make your face appear long. If your hair is thick or curly, avoid a blunt cut. You'll look like a pyramid.

Long or 'oblong' For straight hair, you can create more width with bangs. Long, side-swept bangs are very modern. Chin-length bobs and cuts are also ideal for you because they create the illusion of width. Curls and waves also add width, but avoid short layers that add volume.Super hot styles now: Long layers.Avoid: Stay away from extremely long or short cuts. These elongate your face. If you must have long hair past your shoulders, make sure to cut in a few long layers, especially around the face. You might also consider a v-shaped style, where the length is mainly in the back, while the sides and front of your hair seem shorter.

Round Your best bet are styles that fall right below your chin or add a little volume on top. Soft, graduated layers are also a great bet because they make your face appear slimmer and tend to remove bulk and weight from the sides. Bangs are flattering, but keep them long or sideswept. Go for wispy and tapered ends. These de-emphasize the roundness of your face. Avoid: One-length, blunt cuts if you have short hair. These only emphasize your round face.

Square If you have a square face, you'll want to play down your strong, angular jaw. Texture, in the form of curls or choppy ends, do this brilliantly. You can also get away with short, spiky cuts and long, sleek styles with layers that start at the jawline and continue downward. Avoid: One-length bobs (especially chin-length) and blunt-cut bangs. These will make your face look even more square.

Heart Your pointy chin tends to be the focal point of your face. Draw attention to your eyes and cheekbones instead with sideswept bangs (these act almost like arrows to your eyes or cheeks), brow-grazing fringe, a strong part and hair that falls at or below your jawline. Have short hair? Keep top layers soft and long. Long hair? Go for wavy layers that graze your cheekbones. Avoid: Blunt-cut bangs and harsh, choppy layers.

How to get that perfect (fake) tan

How to use self-tanner on your face

This is a four-step process. Pull hair up in a ponytail before you start so you don't miss any parts.

First, prep skin by gently cleansing and exfoliating. Skip moisturizer, which may interfere with the tanner.

Step two: Apply undereye cream. You want the color of your skin to be lighter under the eyes, it makes you look younger.

Step three: blend a few drops of self-tanner and equal parts moisturizer in the palm of your hand then apply over face and neck. You only want to go one shade darker than your natural color.

Step four: Let color develop for three hours then follow up with a sweep of bronzer on forehead, cheeks and nose -- areas where the sun naturally shines.

Don't forget: Smooth remaining tanner over earlobes and upper ears. Wash hands thoroughly. Don't skip the sunscreen.

How to self-tan your body

For this three-step process, start by exfoliating skin with a body scrub in the shower paying special attention to rough areas including knees and elbows (dry skin absorbs higher concentrations of tanner). Shave before you tan. I suggest using a body oil, instead of shaving cream, when shaving.

I also suggest rubbing Vaseline on cuticles and nails. This protects your manicure and keeps fingertips and nails from staining.

Apply tanner limb by limb, starting with your legs. Apply over the shin and calf of a leg, sweeping tanner down over your ankle, foot d toes. Then apply tanner to your thigh from front to back, using the excess to cover your knee. Repeat on your other leg. For the final step, apply tanner to your hips, stomach & torso, following with your shoulders and arms. Wait 10 minutes to dry before dressing and avoid any excessive activity that will make you sweat for at least a few hours. If your tan hasn't set, sweat could cause streaking.

Extra tip: Give arms, legs and decolletage a subtle glow with a body shimmer.
To create fake fab abs, create a contour with the tanner. Flex your stomach muscles in front of mirror, leaning to the side to see where your "ab line" is, then tracing the outside of your muscle with a bit of tanner on your finger. Do the same to the other side. Once it dries, do an all-over coat.

Pick the right tanner
There are several types of tanners: Tanners created just for the face, airbrushers, cream tans, bronzing gel, tinted tans and tan enhancers. There's body shimmer and bronzing powder. You can layer tanners as colors fade. How? Apply a lotion then follow with bronzing powder or shimmer. Just be careful not to go too dark.

So you messed up, uh-oh
If you end up with a streaky tan, you can fix with an astrigent toner or even toothpaste. Exfoliate to even out a patchy application. Not dark enough? Repeat the procedure. Just make sure you gave the tan enough time to develop.
